Gome Starts Accepting iPhone 5 Pre-Orders

Chinese home electronics and appliance retailer Gome (0493.HK) has begun accepting pre-orders for the China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) and China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) versions of the iPhone 5 at more than 1,700 stores nationwide. Customers can either prepay for the phone at a discount at Gome stores and receive notification by phone of delivery, or can pre-order via Gome's hotline (400-811-3333) without prepayment, leaving their name and contact details for later notification by Gome customer service.

Gome rival Suning (002024.SZ) also recently began accepting iPhone 5 pre-orders.
