Vimicro Back in Black with Q3 2012 Profit of USD 3 Mln

Beijing-based PC-camera processor and IP-based surveillance solution provider Vimicro (Nasdaq: VIMC) has announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2012. Q3 2012 net revenue was USD 21.7 mln, up 11.3% QoQ from USD 19.5 mln in Q2 2012 and up 14.8% YoY from USD 18.9 mln in Q3 2011. The 14.9% YoY revenue increase was due to higher sales in both product lines, reflecting successful execution of the company's new focus.

Net income attributable to Vimicro was USD 2.9 mln, as compared to a loss of USD 5.3 mln in Q3 2011.

For the fourth quarter of 2012, Vimicro expects revenues of USD 20 to USD 23 mln.
