Lakala Suspends Repayment Service for CCB Credit Card

Some users of Chinese e-payment service company Lakala have reported recently that attempts to repay China Construction Bank credit card bills using Lakala have met with an error notice saying that repayment services for CCB cards have been temporarily suspended. A CCB customer service representative referred journalists to Lakala, as did a representative of CCB's credit card service center. On the evening of November 13, Lakala issued a statement saying that the errors were the result of "normal systems upgrades," and that Lakala and CCB would endeavor to restore service within 24 hours. A spokesperson for Lakala said the errors were a sign of growing demand and transaction volumes for third-party payment services.
