Podinns Offers Hotel Booking Service on WeChat

Chinese hotel chain Podinns recently launched hotel booking services through Tencent's (0700.HK) Weixin (Wechat) mobile messaging application. Weixin users who add the "Podinns Hotels" account to their friend lists and click on "Special Member Privileges" can receive special discounts for Weixin users and look at hotel photos and reviews from other users, in addition to standard room rate inquiry, room booking, and reservation management features. The new Weixin account for Podinns offers all the functionality of the chain's official mobile app, and will continue to be updated to keep pace with the app.

Podinns operates more than 200 hotels in 32 cities across China, and announced in June 2012 that it had received USD 55 mln from investors including Fidelity Investment Group, Legend Capital, KTB, and Morgan Creek Capital Management. The company plans to add 300 new hotels around China over the coming three years.
