China Unicom Resumes Free Nano-SIM Card Swap

Sina Tech, 11/26/12

China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) branches in Beijing, Shandong, Guangdong, Jiangsu and other areas have resumed programs to provide iPhone 5-compatible Nano-SIM cards to the company's customers. China Unicom customers with valid I.D. can exchange their original micro-SIM cards for the new Nano-SIM cards free of charge at China Unicom branches.

Chang Xiaobing, chairman of China Unicom, stated in an interview yesterday that the company has already finalized preparations for the iPhone 5's launch in China, and that though the company is now waiting on its network access license from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Chang is confident that the phone will be launched by the end of December.
