Tencent Launches New Version of QQ for Enterprise

Tencent (0700.HK) recently released version 1.6 of its QQ for Enterprise instant messaging client. New features include "phone binding," allowing users to log in to QQ for Enterprise using their mobile phone numbers.
QQ for Enterprise has a "main number + sub-account numbers" system for user accounts, as most people have difficulty memorizing a whole string of enterprise QQ account numbers. For greater ease of employee access - particularly when employees are traveling and forget their QQ numbers - QQ for Enterprise has added the new mobile phone binding feature, which will allow users to log in using a mobile phone number tied to a QQ for Enterprise account.
Version 1.6 also uses mobile phone authentication for password recovery. When employees forget their account passwords, they can reset their passwords using a verification code sent to their mobile phones.
Tencent QQ for Enterprise is reportedly stepping up mobile product deployment efforts, with an iOS client for the service currently undergoing closed beta testing.
