China Unicom, Microsoft to Push Windows Phone, Tablet in China

US software company Microsoft and China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) have announced the establishment of a new Windows Phone alliance. As a part of the announcement, mobile terminal vendors Lenovo (0992.HK), ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ), Huawei, Asus, HTC, Nokia, and Samsung, and chip makers Intel and Qualcomm have all announced their participation in the alliance and the release of more than 10 China Unicom 3G Windows-based handsets and tablets.

China Unicom will provide strategic sales and marketing support to Windows platform handsets and tablet products.
