51Buy to Reach RMB 6 Bln 2012 Sales Target

Bu Guangqi, CEO of Chinese internet giant Tencent's (0700.HK) B2C e-commerce subsidiary 51Buy, has revealed that 51Buy expects its sales volume to reach RMB 6 bln in 2012, and has set a 2013 sales target of 130% YoY growth, or approximately RMB 14 bln. 51Buy aims for daily orders to reach approximately 50,000 in 2013; daily orders currently are approximately 20,000, with 8,000 originating from the Beijing market.

Average order size in Beijing is currently between RMB 500-600. 51Buy operates a logistics center in Beijing covering over 15,000 square meters along with over 30 self-operated distribution points and more than 200 delivery personnel. In order to satisfying growing orders in the Beijing area, 51Buy plans to expand its Beijing warehouse to 40,000 square meters in 2013, and is currently scouting for another 100,000 square meter facility.
