Browser Game Operator 51Wan Introduces Reward Points Shopping

Gao Nannan, assistant to the president and GM of the website platform department of Beijing-based browser game developer and operator 51Wan, recently disclosed that 51Wan launched a membership reward points online shopping channel on December 5. The new service, aimed at 51Wan's more than 5 mln VIP users, allows players to exchange "diamond" virtual currency, awarded with purchases made on the platform, for virtual items such as in-game items and gifts as well as discounts on e-commerce sites and physical merchandise such as t-shirts, dolls, and sportswear.

Gao said the channel has fully launched, and is intended to create a "win-win" situation for both the gaming platform and its e-commerce site partners.
