MIIT Adds Wuxi to List of TD-LTE Trial Cities

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has selected Wuxi as one of 14 trial cities in expanded national TD-LTE tests, according to the Wuxi municipal government, making it the second city in Jiangsu to conduct 4G trials following Nanjing.
China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) Wuxi subsidiary has already completed a TD-LTE demonstration area, and expects to begin offering trial TD-LTE services by February 2013 and full coverage in high-traffic areas by the end of next year.
There are currently 14 TD-LTE trial cities: Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Qingdao, Ningbo, Chengdu, Fuzhou, Shenyang, and Wuxi.
