Hunan TV & Broadcast's RMB 3.7 Bln NGB Project Approved

In a recent public filing, Hunan TV & Broadcast Intermediary (000917.SZ) announced that it has received approval from the Hunan Development and Reform Commission to invest RMB 3.73 bln in the construction of a next-generation broadcasting network. The project will cover 14 cities and prefectures in Hunan, and will develop 100 new cable subscribers through the optimization of infrastructure networks, the expansion of support platforms, the development of dedicated service systems, and bidirectional network upgrades, bringing the total number of subsidiary Hunan Cable TV Network Group subscribers to 6 mln throughout the province, 4 mln of whom will receive bidirectional network coverage. The company will also build a media command center (MCC) a multimedia communications platform, and an M2M (Internet of Things) monitoring platform, and will develop home network gateway, home security control, digital education, and digital gaming services.
