Westone Receives RMB 8 Mln in National Internet Security Subsidies

Chengdu-based encryption and security equipment provider Westone Information Industry (002268.SZ) today announced that China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has added Westone's "High-Performance VPN Equipment R&D & Industrialization" project to the NDRC's high-tech industry development projects list. According to the NDRC's "Notice Regarding 2012 National Next-Generation Internet Information Security Specialized Industrialization Projects," Westone is entitled to RMB 8 mln as a part of its inclusion on the list. Westone said the subsidies were unlikely to affect the company's overall 2012 fiscal performance.
