Xiaomi to Sell Mi2 Handsets on Sina Microblog Platform

Beijing-based Android handset developer Xiaomi and internet company Sina's (Nasdaq: SINA) Weibo microblogging platform announced today that Xiaomi will sell 50,000 Mi2 handsets through Sina Weibo. Customers will be able to order and purchase the handsets directly through Weibo.

From 10 AM on December 19 to midnight on December 20, Sina Weibo will accept pre-orders for Mi2 handsets, and will open sales at noon on December 21. Interested customers can order through the sale promotion page on Xiaomi's official Weibo account.

All of the 50,000 Mi2 phones being sold through the promotion are the 16 GB edition of the handset. Neither Xiaomi nor Sina Weibo has publicly discussed the possibility of future partnerships.
