Sohu IT, 1/04/13

According to an industry source, Shanghai-based demand-side platform (DSP) provider WiseMedia has completed a first round of funding led by Ventech China.

WiseMedia CEO Zhao Shilu confirmed that "funding has already been deposited in the company's bank account," but declined to reveal an exact figure. WiseMedia's first round of funding is rumored to be in the range of several million USD.

WiseMedia was established in August 2011 as one of China's first real-time bidding advertising companies. The company provides DSP services to various online media companies, including internet firm Sohu (Nasdaq: SOHU), online video site operator Tudou, operated by Youku Tudou (NYSE: YOKU), Tencent (0700.HK), CCTV's national online TV station CNTV, and the Chinese government's news portal People's Daily Online (603000.SH).
