Rumor: Sina to Operate Card and Board Games

Tencent Tech, 1/11/13

An industry source revealed today that Chinese internet company Sina (Nasdaq: SINA) is in talks with a number of domestic card and board games companies regarding the upcoming launch of new games. Popular games including Chinese Chess, Lianliankan, and Sichuan-style mahjong are among the games being discussed.

Sina reportedly began top-secret preparations for the launch of board and card games in 2012. Even within Sina, the project is reportedly known only to those employees working directly on it, all of whom have signed non-disclosure agreements.
