Apple China Store Offers Zero-interest Installment Plans

DoNews, 1/14/13

Apple's Chinese online store quietly introduced a new installment plan for purchases recently, allowing any customer making a purchase of RMB 300 or more from the Apple Store to pay in installments. At present, the installment plan is available only to holders of China Merchants Bank credit cards for purchases of up to RMB 30,000. Customers can pay over 3 to 24 installments.

After arriving at the order payment page on Apple's online store, customers may select the "CMB credit card installment plan" option to pay in 3 to 12 interest-free installments. Customers who opt for 18 to 24 installments will pay an additional 6.5% and 8.5%, respectively, in bank processing fees.
