Court to Hear Baidu Case against Qihoo 360

China Business News, 2/21/13

The Beijing No.1 Intermediate People's Court reported today that it had sent notices to Chinese internet companies Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) and Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU) on February 8 informing both companies that it will hear Baidu's suit against Qihoo 360. In a complaint submitted to the court, Baidu alleged that Qihoo 360 had illegally scraped and copied Baidu website content, which it provided to internet users in the form of website "snapshots." Baidu is seeking RMB 100 mln in damages from Qihoo 360.

Baidu and Qihoo 360 had previously accepted pre-trial mediation, but were unable to reach an agreement.
