Rumor: China's MIIT Establishes 5G Standards Work Group

Mo Wan, a leading expert at the China Academy of Telecommunication Research (CATR), has revealed that China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has established a working group to conduct fifth-generation (5G) mobile communications standards research.
According to Mo, China's TD-LTE user base will reach 60 mln in 2016 and account for 40% of worldwide TD-LTE users.
