Rumor: Foxconn to Shutter E-commerce Site eFeihu

Ebrun, 3/01/13

According to an inside source, Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn (2038.HK; 2354.TW) has begun to liquidate the assets of its B2C e-commerce platform eFeihu.com and will soon shut down the site. A senior industry source close to eFeihu.com told Chinese tech site Ebrun that it is possible managers at the company have already been stripped of control. The source also went on to say that many of the products sold on the website are actually purchased by employees at eFeihu.com. "This would be like opening a store in a prison," the source said. eFeihu.com declined to comment on the matter.
