Rekoo Hatches Mobile Game Incubation Plan

Yesky.com, 3/13/13

Chinese SNS game developer Rekoo officially announced today the company's mobile game "star making" strategy. The strategy involves an RMB nine-digit incubation fund established by Rekoo and a number of other domestic investors in order support mobile game development teams. Also, Rekoo will provide assistance in three major areas: channels, marketing, and decision analysis. Rekoo can assist developers to find channels, as the company's games are already hosted through Apple, 91 Wireless, Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU), and UCWeb, among other mobile game channels. In terms of marketing, Rekoo is able to offer game developers comprehensive marketing promotion services. Finally, Rekoo will also help in decision analysis by providing data on user behavior, retention, loss, and average revenue per user (ARPU).

Rekoo also announced the first pair of games successfully incubated: casual game "Find Something" and chess and board game "Da Zhang Men." According to ranking data culled from Google Play and fourteen Android app platforms, downloads for "Find Something" have already reached 35 mln and the game has a daily active user (DAU) base of 6 mln. "Da Zhang Men" has monthly revenue of RMB 20 mln.

Rekoo CEO Liu Yong has stated that future services for the company will focus on mobile platforms. Not only will the company assist domestic developers to operate within Mainland China, but it will also help them expand into the mobile game markets of Japan and South Korea.
