Galaxy Internet Television Launches Quad-Core OTT STB

Galaxy Internet Television, a joint venture between China National Radio (CNR) subsidiary CNR New Media, Jiangsu TV, and internet company Baidu's (Nasdaq: BIDU) joint-venture online video site iQiyi, recently released its first "Galaxy-Series" terminal: the "Muxing" ("Jupiter") OTT television set-top box (STB). The Jupiter STB is the first commercial internet TV STB in China to use a quad-core processor.

The Jupiter features a quad-core ARM A9 processor running an optimized version of Android 4.0 with a custom UI, and features 2D and 3D graphics acceleration and Dolby-certified audio. Users of the Jupiter will receive access to 120,000 hours of Blu-Ray-quality and 3D on-demand film content. The Jupiter also supports native apps, allowing users to access video, games, educational content, and news bulletins through a single interface.
