Wanda Establishes E-Commerce Subsidiary in Beijing

According to an update on the Beijing Administration of Industry and Commerce's website today, Chinese entertainment conglomerate Dalian Wanda Group registered a new e-commerce subsidiary, Wanda Information Technology, with the Shijingshan office of the BAIC on March 4. Wanda Information Technology has a registered capital of RMB 60 mln; the company's legal representative is Dalian Wanda Group president Ding Benxi.

Information provided to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce by the Shijingshan sub-commission indicates that Wanda plans for its e-commerce subsidiary to develop a nationwide e-commerce platform that will grow to more than 100 mln registered users and annual transactions of more than RMB 100 bln within the next three to five years. A source at the Shijingshan sub-commission said that Wanda Information Technology has already begun setting up its e-commerce team, and is still recruiting for some positions.
