China Unicom Wo Store Launches Mobile Game Platform

China Unicom's (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) "Wo Store" mobile app store has released a mobile gaming platform, "Wo Game," allowing users to download games through a new Wo Game mobile client. In addition to compiling and hosting mobile games, the Wo Game platform provides game developers who host content through Wo Game with integrated authentication, account charging, payment, online customer service, and other features.

China Unicom has also announced a partnership with Beijing-based mobile game developer CocoaChina/Chukong (Punchbox) on mobile game operation, technology exchange, and developer services.

According to a Wo Store spokesperson, China Unicom will integrate Wo Store data with other outside data in order to provide more accurate app recommendations and more effective push notification models.

Wo Store users currently total more than 30 mln, with daily active users of around 1 mln and monthly active users of close to 20 mln.
