Lenovo Enters 3C Service and Maintenance Market

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Lenovo (0992.HK) announced on May 8 that it will begin offering 3C product maintenance and other services to Chinese consumers, regardless of product brand. Lenovo plans for its 3C services to generate RMB 1 bln in revenues over the next three years. Lu Zaifeng, GM of consumer and SME services for Lenovo, said that the company's 3C services for individual and family consumers will include hardware repairs and maintenance, systems and software services, data security and management services, digital lifestyle services, and mobile internet services focusing chiefly on desktop and notebook computers, smartphones and tablet computers, and smart TVs. Coverage will not be limited to Lenovo products, Lu said. By the end of 2013, Lenovo will open or retool 2,400 3C service network nodes to cover a variety of products at the county and township levels.
