Rumor: Alibaba Acquires Sogou

According to a post on the official microblogging account of Feng Dahui, Chief Technical Officer of online academic portal Dxy.cn, Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group has reached an agreement to acquire internet firm Sohu's (Nasdaq: SOHU) online search subsidiary Sogou.

A spokesperson for Sogou denied the rumor, while Alibaba declined to comment.
