Baidu Introduces Security Product to Rival 360 Safe Guard

Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) quietly released version 1.0 Beta 1 of Baidu Guard (http://weishi.baidu.com), a Windows XP and Windows 7 application similar to rival Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU)'s 360 Safe Guard, offering computer acceleration, system cleanup, software management, and anti-Trojan functionality. Baidu will offer only 1,000 downloads per day of the beta application between the hours of 9 AM and noon.

Baidu already has a number of security products, including "handset manager" apps for mobile terminals and antivirus and security applications for PCs.
