Rumor: Huawei, Alibaba Secure IDC Licenses

According to a source quoted by China's Economic Information Daily, Chinese telecom equipment and terminal manufacturer Huawei and e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group are among a dozen companies that have secured internet data center (IDC) licenses from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). An additional group of companies has also been granted internet service provider (ISP) licenses. The MIIT will release a list of companies awarded IDC and ISP licenses in the near future.
