inWatch Launches 'inWatch One' Smart Watch

Sina Tech, 8/09/13

Shenzhen-based wearable smart device developer and distributor Shenzhen inWatch Technology has released the company's eponymous smart watch product, the inWatch One. The smart watch is equipped with voice calling, SMS, and camera features. On August 8, inWatch began accepting pre-orders for the device, which is priced at RMB 1,788.

The inWatch One, which runs on the Android 4.2 OS, is equipped with a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 2 megapixel camera, and a 500mAh battery, with a battery life of 36-48 hrs, and a theoretical standby battery life of 120 hrs. The product also connects to the Baidu Yun cloud service platform.

inWatch also has an app store, which at present features only a small number of specially adapted apps. Wang Xiaobin, co-founder of inWatch, has stated that it is necessary for inWatch to partner with third-party developers in order to optimize mobile apps for the smart watch, and that apps not properly adapted will hurt the inWatch's user experience.
