Taobao Mobile Client Adds 100 Mln Users in H1 2013

Hangzhou-based C2C & B2C e-commerce site Taobao's mobile client added 100 mln new users in H1 2013, according to data released by the company. The daily active user base of Taobao's mobile client has increased by more than 300% from the prior-year period.

As of the end of Q2 2013, over 1.1 mln Taobao merchants reported that Taobao mobile client sales accounted for more than 10% of their total sales, 489% more merchants than the prior-year period. Approximately 339,000 merchants had mobile client sales that accounted for more than 30% of total sales, an increase of 412% YoY.

Editor's Note: As of the end of H1 2013, the total number of users of Taobao's mobile client reached approximately 400 mln.
