Rumor: Xiaomi to Launch Smart Watch by Year-End

According to an industry insider, Beijing-based Android handset developer Xiaomi has begun mass production on the company's first smart watch model, to be released by the end of 2013. The smart watch will run on Xiaomi's MIUI operating system, and will serve as an accessory to complement the company's line of smartphones. According to the source, the Xiaomi smart watch will be priced lower than competitor models such as Samsung's Galaxy Gear, which is available for RMB 2,999 in China.
