Qihoo 360 Files Unfair Competition Lawsuit Against Baidu

Sina Tech, 10/16/13

The Beijing High People's Court has agreed to hear an unfair competition lawsuit filed by Chinese internet services and security software provider Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU) against rival internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU). The suit alleges that Baidu sites intercept Qihoo 360 traffic and redirect it to Baidu's search engine. Qihoo 360 is seeking RMB 400 mln in damages.

Qihoo 360 alleges that Qihoo 360 search results linking to Baidu-related online properties will redirect users to Baidu's search homepage, forcing users to re-input their search on Baidu's own search engine.
