B2B Tourism Service Firm Octopus Lands RMB 150 Mln Funding

Octopus Online Travel Development, the Suzhou-based operator of B2B online travel service platform 8trip.cn, has landed RMB 150 mln in funding from Vision Knight Capital and Softbank.
Octopus, which was established in December 2011, is a B2B exchange platform that connects travel service providers and travel agencies. Octopus currently covers Wuxi and Nanjing in Jiangsu Province, as well as Anhui Province, and will enter Shanghai next year. At present, nearly 1,000 travel service providers have registered with the platform.
