Pet-owner SNS App Lands RMB 7-Digit Funding

Beijing Yingpai Tesi Network Technology, developer of soon-to-be-released mobile pet owner SNS app Petta, recently secured a RMB 7-digit strategic investment from Shanghai-based venture capital firm Zhonglu Investment. Zhonglu was also an early investor in China's largest pet-owner SNS and e-commerce platform Boqii.com. Petta founder Lv Bosen has revealed the company chose Zhonglu as an investor in order to promote the Petta app to Boqii.com's 2 mln registered users.
Lv founded pet-owner SNS website Poopur.com in April 2012. In October of the same year, Poopur.com was acquired by Beijing Shiji Liangyou Technology, operator of pet-owner SNS site Goumin.com. Lv became VP of Shiji Liangyou's product division, responsible for the company's mobile internet services. In June 2013, Lv left his position at Shiji to establish Yingpai Tesi and develop the Petta app. According to Lv, Petta will first position itself as a pet photo and story sharing app, but will later add more SNS features. Other services will also be added to the app going forward, such as pet health, pet-sitting, pet purchasing, and e-commerce services. The Android and iOS versions of Petta will be released before the Chinese New Year holiday (January 31).
