Qihoo 360 Apps Return to Apple App Store

Sina Tech, 3/05/14

Chinese internet services and security software provider Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU) announced today that the company's mobile app content, including mobile security app 360 Mobile Safe, has returned to Apple's China App Store. A source at Qihoo revealed that the company recently reached a deal with Apple to see the reinstatement of its apps to the App Store. Qihoo has not responded to the rumor.

Apple removed all of Qihoo's apps from its App Store in January 2013 after the company was found to be in breach of App Store rules. Version 3.5 of 360 Mobile Safe now appears on the Apple App Store, but is lacking Android features such as the ability to block harassing phone calls and SMS messages, display caller location for unknown mobile numbers, and delete system files, a source of contention when first released to the App Store in December 2012.
