Chinese consumer electronics and home appliance retailer Suning's (002024.SZ) e-commerce platform has released a cost per click (CPC) marketing tool for third-party merchants on the platform, "Shengyi Tong."

Similar to C2C e-commerce site Taobao's Zhitongche paid search ranking system,'s Shengyi Tong allows merchants to bid to have their products appear in ad spaces alongside related customer search results on, charging advertisers using a CPC model.

As compared to Taobao Zhitongche's starting cost per sale (CPS) price of RMB 0.05, Shengyi Tong's CPC model begins at RMB 0.01. is planning to promote Shengyi Tong to its partner third-party merchants in April, offering cash incentives for advertising funds allocated to the service, and training merchants how to increase web traffic, optimize product pages, and improve keyword usage. has also launched a banner ad bidding system under the name "Juke Bao," charging advertisers on a cost per mille (CPM) basis. The service offers image placements for merchandise in prominent locations on the homepage and other locations.
