Qihoo 360 Releases '360 TV' Smart TV App

Chinese internet services and security software provider Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU) today began limited-quantity closed beta testing of its "360 TV Helper" smart TV app store, setting an initial quota of 10,000 testers for the product.

360 TV Helper is a standalone smart TV app that can be installed on any smart TV or set-top box (STB) product, allowing users to access TV programs and films, software, games, and other smart TV app content. The app store also facilitates upgrading of existing smart TV apps.

According to Qihoo 360's website, the 10,000-user quota was filled within 5 minutes of the app's release, and Qihoo 360 plans to allow an additional 10,000 users to sign up for beta testing on April 16.
