Mobile QQ Tests JD.com Shopping Channel

Sootoo.com, 6/09/14

Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencent (0700.HK) recently added a shopping channel for Beijing-based B2C e-commerce platform JD.com (Nasdaq: JD) to the "QQ Wallet" section of the company's Mobile QQ instant messaging app. The new channel appears in addition to QQ Wallet's existing channels for mobile taxi booking service Didi Dache and online ratings and group buy site Dianping. According to JD.com, the channel is currently in the beta testing phase, with service to officially launch in mid-June.

Currently, the "JD.com Shopping" page is divided into three parts, including "Special Prices," "Brand Name," and "Fashion" channels. Users can complete payment for items through "QQ Wallet," which supports credit card payments as well as Tencent's Tenpay and Q Coin online payment systems.

JD.com has previously been integrated with Tencent's WeChat mobile messaging app.
