MIIT to Issue Third Batch of MVNO Licenses in 1-2 Months

Miao Wei, head of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), has disclosed that the MIIT is currently in the process of approving applications for a third batch of MVNO licenses in China, to be issued within one to two months.

An industry source has revealed that 7-8 companies will be awarded licenses in the upcoming issuance, including China Mobile MVNO partners 21Vianet (Nasdaq: VNET), ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ) subsidiary SeeCom Technology, Yinsheng E-Pay, Dr. Peng Telecom & Media Group (600804.SH), and China PTAC.
