Rumor: Tudou to Release Self-branded Smartphone

According to a source within Chinese online video site Tudou, operated by Youku Tudou (NYSE: YOKU), the company will soon launch a self-branded handset, with specifications and pricing for the device yet to be determined.

Previously, Chinese internet firm Baidu's (Nasdaq: BIDU) online video subsidiary iQiyi launched the "100+ iQiyi" mobile video-themed smartphone, while internet TV content provider LeTV (Leshi) (300104.SZ) has also announced imminent plans to launch a self-developed smartphone product.
