China Mobile's TD-LTE Subs Reach 50 Mln

Xi Guohua, chairman of China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK), has announced that the mobile operator's total number of 4G subscribers topped 50 mln at the end of October. Xi expects this figure to reach 70 mln by the end of the year.

China Mobile has completed construction on 570,000 4G base stations at present, already exceeding the total number of 3G base stations built by the company over the past 6 years. China Mobile's 4G coverage has now reached more than 300 cities and 75% of China's population, and by the end of December, China Mobile's total number of 4G base stations will reach 700,000. China Mobile offers 4G roaming in more than 27 countries and regions including the US and Hong Kong.
