Gehua, Qihoo 360, Private Equity Firm Ally on Video, Smart Home Businesses

Beijing-based cable and broadband operator Gehua CATV Network (600037.SH) recently revealed that it has signed a strategic agreement with internet services and security software provider Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU) and Shenzhen-based Jinzhuan Silu Capital Holding to partner on value-added technology, video, and telecom business.
The three parties will cooperate to leverage Qihoo 360's "360 Online Cinema" exclusive video content, providing a multi-channel, multi-platform content viewing service that includes Internet TV, mobile television, and high definition interactive platforms. Within the fields of pay-per-view and home smart interactive entertainment, the three companies will also engage in joint brand promotion. The companies will also partner on the design, development, manufacture, and sales of smart home products.
The deal will help Gehua more quickly realize its strategic goal of becoming an all-media company, as well as entering new business fields to develop additional profit growth points.
