Medical Instrument Firm Biolight Meditech, Tencent Ally on Online Health

Guangdong-based medical instrument maker Biolight Medical Technology (300246.SZ) has announced that it has signed a framework of cooperation with Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencent (0700.HK) to partner on a new business model in online healthcare.

Biolight will be responsible for the development and manufacturing of smart wearable healthcare products as well as operation of the cloud platform. Tencent will provide technical support through its Internet of Things (IoT) platform, management of linked account system (including but not limited to instant messaging service QQ), and big data mining. Users of Biolight wearable hardware will be able to link their data to the IoT platform for statistics, interaction, and other features.
