Qiku to Release Low-end Dazen Note 3 Smartphone

Qiku Internet Network Technology, a subsidiary of Coolpad E-commerce, the handset JV between Shenzhen-based smartphone maker Coolpad Group (2369.HK) and mobile services firm Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU), has unveiled the Dazen Note 3 low-end smartphone. Sales of the smartphone will commence July 27 priced at RMB 899.

The Note 3 comes with a 5.5-inch HD screen, a 64-bit 8-core high-speed MediaTek MT6753 processor, a 3,000 mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 13MP HD rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a fingerprint recognition feature.

Qiku president Li Wang says Qihoo's "360 OS" mobile operating system will be announced next month. The Note 3 is currently loaded with the 360 OS Mini, which can be upgraded once the 360 OS comes out.
