Takeout Food Ordering Platform Ele.me's Daily GMV Reaches RMB 80 Mln

Shanghai-based Rajax Information Technology, operator of online and mobile restaurant takeout ordering platform Ele.me, has announced that Ele.me's daily order volume has surpassed 1 mln orders, while daily gross merchandise volume (GMV) has reached RMB 80 mln. Rajax's fresh food B2B m-commerce platform Youcai Mall has a daily GMV of RMB 5 mln.
In August 2015, Rajax began constructing a 1-hour delivery platform that includes Ele.me's self-operated delivery as well as full-time and crowdsourced delivery partner Hummingbird. The platform covers delivery for mid-range and high-end meals, most regular restaurants, and a small number of other orders.
Ele.me employed more than 6,000 delivery personnel as of November 2015, averaging 35 deliveries per day. Hummingbird has 500,000 delivery personnel covering more than 300 cities across China.
Ele.me plans to partner with more local delivery companies and provide delivery solutions for other O2O platforms.
