Sogou Integrates Bing's English Search Results

Sogou, 5/19/16

Wang Xiaochuan, CEO of Chinese internet firm Sohu's (Nasdaq: SOHU) online search subsidiary Sogou, recently announced that the company has formed a partnership with US technology firm Microsoft's Bing search engine service, and that Sogou will use Bing's English search technology to release two new vertical search channels, "Sogou English" and "Academic Search."

Editor's Note: Conducting searches today on both Sogou's Academic Search and Bing's Academic Search function to search for medical keywords "Parkinson's" and "cancer," Marbridge found that the two services displayed identical search results. Accordingly, it appears that Sogou's Academic Search currently displays results directly from Bing's Academic Search channel.
