Online Career Education Platform '51CTO' Wins RMB 9-digit Series B

Beijing-based Wuyou Chuangxiang Information Technology, operator of online and mobile career education platform 51CTO, recently announced completion of RMB 9-digit Series B funding led by Huakai Ventures. Funds will mainly be used to increase investment in technology products, marketing, operating team development, and other aspects of the platform's education business.
The 51CTO platform currently offers three online course models:
1) Self-study (C2C) Individual instructors are matched with the platform's registered users for online video-based classes.
2) Tutoring (B2C) Instructors under contract with the platform offer online classes for students.
3) Educational Institution (B2B) The platform offers courses for educational institutions and training organizations.
Tutoring and educational institution services are fee-based, while approximately 60% of self-study courses do not charge a tuition fee. According to 51CTO, the platform currently has more than 5 mln users, including more than 2 mln registered users and 100,000 paying users. The platform has more than 1,000 instructors and offers more than 4,000 courses. It also offers more than 80,000 videos totaling over 40,000 hours of educational content.
