Beijing-based Dingdang Medicine Express Technology, operator of mobile O2O pharmacy delivery app Dingdang Medicine Express, recently announced completion of RMB 300 mln Series A funding from Tongdao Gongying. Funds will mainly be used to develop a new retail sales model for pharmacy and healthcare products.
The new sales model will leverage online platform services to expand the capabilities of offline pharmacies, including expanding their typical service radius from approximately 500 meters to 5 kilometers; supporting 28-minute at-home delivery services, and adding 24-hour pharmacist services. The Dingdang Medicine Express app will also help users to set up electronic records and collect health-related data to create a C2B model.
In November, Dingdang announced that its daily orders in the Beijing market reached more than 20,000. The platform now has more than 10 mln users and covers seven major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Shenyang and Zhengzhou. It offers free 24x7 delivery services in central areas.
