Lieyunwang, 2/23/17
Shenzhen-based artificial intelligence and cloud computing company CloudMinds recently held a press conference in Beijing to announce completion of USD 100 mln Series A funding from undisclosed investors.
CloudMinds, established in early 2015, specializes in cloud-based smart robotics, secure cloud networks, large AI machine learning platforms, and secure smart terminal and robot controller technologies.
CloudMinds recently announced a cloud-based smart control terminal called DATA, which serves as a link between a physical robot and a cloud-based "brain" to ensure that the robot operates safely. The company also launched a "META Program" to develop a cloud-based navigation robot for vision-impaired users. The program has produced a helmet, CloudMinds' first cloud-based smart wearable device, which offers facial recognition, object recognition, route planning, and obstacle avoidance services for blind users.
In May 2016, CloudMinds completed USD 30 mln seed funding from Japanese telecom and media corporation SoftBank, which contributed USD 10 mln, Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn (2038.HK), and venture capital firm Walden International.
