iFlytek, Anhui Provincial Hospital Ally on Smart Hospital Platform

Chinese voice recognition software firm iFlytek (002230.SZ) and Anhui Provincial Hospital recently announced that they have partnered to open a new Anhui Provincial Smart Hospital (AI-Assisted Diagnosis and Treatment Center).
Several of iFlytek's products are already in use at Anhui Provincial Hospital, including its smart AI-supported diagnosis and treatment robot Xiao Yi, AI medical imaging diagnosis support system, and outpatient voice-based electronic medical records system.
According to Xu Guliang, director of Anhui Provincial Hospital, these AI technologies and products are mainly used for patient appointments, physician diagnosis and treatment, and hospital management applications. The two Xiao Yi robots used by the hospital can check physician schedules for all 47 departments at the hospital, navigate between 607 functional locations, and handle questions about 260 common illnesses. The accuracy of its responses has reportedly increased from 81% to reach 90.81%.
The AI medical imaging diagnosis support system developed by Anhui Provincial Hospital and iFlyTek has learned from more than 680,000 chest and lung CT images since June 2016. It is already being used to help physicians diagnose approximately 11,000 patients, and has developed an accuracy rate of 94%.
So far, iFlyTek's medical treatment AI system has been trained on nearly 1 mln medical images, 53 professional medical textbooks, 2 mln real, anonymized electronic medical records, and 400,000 medical journal articles and case reports.
In addition, the system is connected with the Anhui Province Medical Image Cloud Platform and the Anhui Provincial Hospital Medical Union Remote Consultation Platform, to support connections with 41 county-level hospitals. The system will eventually serve 105 counties throughout Anhui province.
