Tmall to Shutter 'Maoxiang' B2C Direct Sales Platform on September 30

E-Commerce News, 8/01/23

Tmall, the B2C e-commerce platform of Chinese internet conglomerate Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA; 9988.HK), recently issued a notice advising users that it will close its 'Maoxiang' self-operated stores from September 30. The notice attributed the planned termination of the Maoxiang stores to an adjustment in business strategy. For questions about products, after-sales or other related issues, users can consult customer service by telephone or online.

Tmall, which historically had operated only on a marketplace model, added the Maoxiang self-operated-stores model in February 2022.
